Applying for a visa
Most international students planning to study full-time in the UK for more than six months will need to apply for a student visa. The visa application is based on a points based assessment – 70 points are needed to be granted a visa.
- 50 points for a Confirmation of Acceptance of Studies (CAS) from the University.
- 10 points Bank statement – this is known as maintenance.
- 10 points English language proficiency (for example, IELTS 5.5 or Proof of English Proficiency etc).

How Much Money Do I Need to Have?
The finances student needs to demonstrate meet the requirements. Student must show that have held the required amount of money in bank account for a consecutive 28-day period.
What is a Credibility Interview?
Credibility interviews were introduced to ensure that only ‘genuine students’ are given visa to study in the UK. Student may be asked to attend a credibility interview as part of visa application.
